Cold and Hot Packs

Cold Packs

Ice is the best alternative to the anti inflammatory and pain medication. Taking pills can put extra burden on the liver and kidney. Acute inflammation can be easily managed with application of ice on the local area. Ice also has analgesic effect to control pain.

We provide re-usable and flexible ice packs for our patients to apply at home.

Hot Packs

After a period of acute inflammation which can take anywhere from 2 to 14 days, hot packs are applied to increase blood flow and loosen up the muscle spasm.

At home, we do not recommend using dry heat such as electrical heating pads. Moisturized heat such as warm bath, warm shower or steam sauna is recommended instead.
