Flexion Distraction Therapy is a type of active traction done on a Flexion Distraction table. The bottom half of the table moves down from the horizontal level and up in a regular speed. The speed is adjusted according to the patient's condition.
It stretches and provides traction mainly to low back region. Our goal is to increase our patients' mobility as soon as possible. This table helps us achieve that goal. Patients find this table to be very comfortable and feel much more flexible after the session.
It is a very effective modality to restore motion in lumbar spine, to break off the adhesive scar tissues and cool down the edema and swelling. We find it works well for patients suffering with lumbar stenosis symptoms. This table also has been effectively used for patients with mild disc pain.
